Campaign Focus Points
- Open communication between residents and the Council: The current city council does not listen to residents of Rancho Cucamonga; they only seem to have open ears to big business and campaign contributors. As a longtime resident that truly cares about the city and its residents, I will work hard to maintain the voter’s desires.
- Tourist and business improvements: Rancho Cucamonga should become a destination spot for visitors and business people. By encouraging large meeting spaces to be developed within the city, construct the family pool facility, and build a place for visitors with RVs to stay during their visits. Central Park should be more than a weed patch with a big yellow dog statue.
- Housing in Rancho Cucamonga: Recent construction of housing has not appeared to be done to provide affordable housing, nor a community friendly environment. It has caused traffic and on street parking and increased traffic flow to an unsafe level. The buildings don't meet the historical design style of the area that had been followed for decades. The mass housing on small lots has caused an increase in crime. The council had promised that there would not be on street parking, and the total opposite has occurred with support of the city council. Streets that should have been widened to handle the increased traffic, have now been narrowed to allow for on street parking. (Hermosa Avenue)
- Street Maintenance and Repairs: There have been some recent residential street repairs within the city. Millions of dollars were spent to repair the cracks, but not actually providing long lasting repairs. Contracts such as these need to have performance and completion guarantees.
- Widen and improve sidewalks and roadways in Ranch Cucamonga. Have staff fine tune the traffic controls to improve the flow of traffic. Part of the improvements also need to include selecting the proper trees and plants. Trees should be utilized that don't destroy sidewalks and streets. Plants and other landscape materials that are low maintenance, draught tolerant, and appealing to the senses should be encouraged.
- Training and retaining employees: The City should train their employees and promote from within. Allowing employees to learn additional skills within their classifications and compensating them for those additional skills. Well trained employees are the Cities most valuable asset. City staff should be an example of what we want of our city.
- Historical Restoration: Create partnerships with local businesses to restore historical buildings. Growing up in Rancho Cucamonga. I enjoyed the citrus groves and vineyards of the area. My great grandfather was in the Citrus grove business back in the 1800s. We need to preserve the groves and vineyards that was the heritage of Rancho Cucamonga.
When elected I will work hard for you, the Voters of Rancho Cucamonga to improve this beloved city.
